Do you want to spend two weeks writing in sunny, warm Athens, Greece? Of course you do! A Poets' Agora is offering its poetry residency for the second year. It is a residency program, "designed as an experience to pursue personal creative growth in the vibrant capital city of Athens, allowing you to attend multiple contemporary art and cultural events, as well as to be inspired by the ancient architecture and marvels scattered around the city."
The residency advertises a room in a neoclassical apartment in the old quarter of Plaka. You are free to create your own schedule and you are given a small stipend to cover the costs of the cultural events, local transportation, etc. However, international travel expenses are the responsibility of the applicant. The residency sets up dinners and meetings with Greek poets (who also speak English) so you can be sure to learn from the best!
At the completion of your time in the residency, a selection of your work will be published in accompaniment with their yearly edition in the late autumn of 2020. The deadline for applications is January 31st and you can find all the details on their website here!
